OweMe Cookie Notice

Last updated: 26 September 2026 Applies to: owemeapp.com, the account-deletion page at api.owemeapp.com/delete-account, and the OweMe apps for Android and iPhone.

This notice explains what OweMe stores on your device, and why. It is short because there is little to say. How we use personal data in general is in the Privacy Policy.

1. The website sets no cookies

owemeapp.com sets no cookies, and stores nothing else in your browser either — no local storage, no session storage. It loads nothing from other companies: no analytics, no advertising, no fonts, no embedded content. So no third party can set a cookie through it, and Cloudflare, which serves the site, sets none. The same is true of the account-deletion page at api.owemeapp.com/delete-account.

That is why there is no cookie banner: there is nothing to accept or refuse.

2. What the apps keep on your phone

Apps do not use cookies, but the law treats information an app stores on your device in much the same way, so here it is. The OweMe app keeps only what it needs to work:

None of it is used for advertising, analytics or tracking, and none of it is read by anybody else. Each item is either needed to provide the service you asked for, or remembers a choice you made. Uninstalling the app deletes all of it.

One thing is not ours. When you scan a receipt, Google's ML Kit text recognition, which reads it on your phone, keeps an identifier of its own for that installation. It uses it for the technical diagnostics described in the Privacy Policy §4 — never the photo or what the receipt says, and not to track you.

3. If this changes

If we ever store anything on your device that is not needed for the service or a choice you made, we will ask you first and update this notice before we do.
